Towns and villages
The village of Frigiliana is only 3 miles away. With its cobbled streets this pretty village provides several grocers, bars and restaurants. For the more energetic, a countryside track provides a 1.5h walk to the village. 5 miles beyond Frigiliana lies Nerja's lively town centre where there are many superb restaurants, shops and beaches. A weekly street market visits the town where you can browse the local wares. Located a short distance from the town are the magnificant Nerja caves.
There is a popular restaurant within a 10 minute walk from the villa serving excellent food and wines and providing wonderful views down the valley to the coast.
Excursions
Tour operators based in Nerja offer day excursions to Seville, Granada, Alhambra Palace, Ronda, Cordoba, Puerta Banus, Gibraltar, Morroco and the Sierra Alpujarras. They also offer specialist trips such as Dolphin watching boat trips from Gibraltar with coach connection (highly recommended by us) and flamenco and BBQ night excursions.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches of Nerja, only 8 miles away provide a variety of activities for holidaymakers of all ages.
Burriana beach is the most famous providing a range of water sports including a scuba diving center.
Heading east from Nerja more secluded coves can be discovered nestling among the scenic cliffs.

Golf
The nearest golf course is Baviera which is a 15 minute drive along the coastal road from Nerja. Designed by Jose Maria Canizares, this 18 hole par 71 course suits players of all levels. At 6050 yards the course offers magnificant mountain and sea views. Further details from bavieragolf.com

Skiing
The ski slopes in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Granada are approximately 2 hours drive away.
The Sierra Nevada has over 60km of ski slopes open throughout the 5 month season. The slopes are accessible via 2 cable cars, 12 chair lifts and 5 ski lifts. With 45 pistes and 6 off-piste routes, the Sierra Nevada offers skiing for all skill levels.
